Episode No. 26 Getting Comfortable Saying No.

The Sunday Jumpstart Podcast Episode No. 26 Getting Comfortable Saying No..JPG

“You can say “No” and still be a good person.”

-Jessica Lauren

One of the main reasons that a lot of us #Goalgetters are exhausted, overwhelmed and completely burned out is because we have a hard time saying no. We want to be the best boss, momma, wife, student on this entire planet so we say yes to almost every request that comes our way. We don't like to disappoint or hurt anybody's feelings. So when folks ask questions like--can I borrow $200? It's a Yes. Can you plan my wedding for me? Yep! No problem!  Can you help me move across the country? Omg! I'm so happy you asked--yes, yes yes! Now ain’t nothing wrong with helping out and supporting our loved ones. Nothing wrong at all. The issue is OVERCOMMITTING!  We say yes to everybody and their momma that by the time it comes to our goals, our dreams and true desires we're too tired to give the things that we love and value our full attention. So in today's episode, we’re going to talk about getting comfortable saying the word no. I know it’s hard because we all want to show up and be the best friend, lover, momma, etc. But saying yes to everything out of sheer obligation is in no way sustainable and doesn’t allow us people pleasers (yep I'm one too) the space we need to rest, work on our own goals and enjoy the life we worked so hard to create.

Topics Discussed In Today’s Episode:

  • Determining your boundaries- how are you willing to show up for your friends and family?

  • How to release any guilt if + when you have to use the word No.

  • Tips that will help you determine whether or not you want to say yes or no.
